Absolutely AMAZING keratin work done by Michelle! She’s very talented and takes her time to explain everything you need to know about the keratin treatments and how to care for your hair afterwards.

It’s not often that you come across a hair salon that functions as a family, but thats exactly what I found here at Mike & Son.  I am so happy that I chose them to do a keratin and highlights on my thick, long, Indian hair.  I honestly did not know if they would be able to handle it, because so many hair dressers have had problems with my hair – but at the end of my visit, my hair was smooth, sleek and shiny.  The highlights were perfectly blended with my hair and the cut was fantastic.

If you go, ask for Michele – she’s a genius stylist.  And Albert, the owner, is always around to give you a quick tip on how you should wear your hair (plus he gives killer barbershop cuts for men).   You don’t need fancy chandeliers and candles with snooty stylists – all you need is a little trip to Mike & Son Hairstylist’s to make you feel brand new again – and also just like part of the family!

The prices were insanely reasonable, the service was amazing and they guys are honestly geniuses in the work, as well as being just plain good people.  I have already recommended all my friends go here.

Don’t miss out – this place is a hidden gem

Definitely loved the way Michelle did my hair. Very patient, cordial and friendly with everyone.

Got a flyer off the street 3 days in a row and decided to give a try. Got highlights and color with Michelle. I was looking for a new funky look. She did a great job and I will defiantly be back. I want to try their Moroccan Oil or Keratin treatments as well.

The new guy YAN is a real pro and really enjoys his work with pride.  If Pierce Brosnan can trust him with his hair, he can always cut mine.

Shave and a haircut. The doctor is in…most of the time, at Dr. Mike and Sons. I used to go to a place a little pricier and a little more “upscale,” and still they do it better.
I’ve had Uri and Dr. Mike’s son, Albert lower my earlobes, and both have done great work. Albert is by appointment only, but weekdays Uri will be more than happy to hook you up. I haven’t had this issue, but make sure if you get anyone else they don’t go too short. To be safe, call for an appointment!

I’ve been going to see Albert since he started and I haven’t had a bad haircut yet. When in town, my family members make a stop to see him as well. He’s friendly, professional and takes pride in making you look your best. You can tell he put the same amount of heart into his new location at 98 Chambers. I wish him the best. If you haven’t been, go!

Why, oh why, did I not know about this guy my whole life? It would have changed everything!

He is the best barber that I ever had in my life. Hands down.
Dr Mike, recommended to me by DJ Alex Creed, is the self-proclaimed, “Doctor of Hairology”… and who can argue?
Formerly an Astor Hair barber, he went off on his own with his son, Albert, to open up this shop in the Financial District.
Guys | He makes my receding hairline look like a quality ‘do! It is due to this that I recommend never going to him, so that I can stay above the pack!

Plus, why should I ruin my own secret and increase my wait times?! Oh, wait. To hook you people up! It’s what I do, fockers!

Snuck out for a quick trim today as my 11am canceled. Yelp directed me to Tribeca this time on my downtown/fidi barber search. Dr Mike & Sons was busy, all chairs full at 11.09am and for good reason. Fast, neat, friendly, convenient, and I was in and out in 30 mins (including waiting for Yan, my barber to be done with another “patient”).

Great experience, great price, I’ll be back, i think I just found my new barber!

I went to Dr. Mike because I no longer want to pay the inflated $40 for the place I’ve been going for five years.  Also, they saw me as late as 7:30, which I think is unusual.  Most barbers want to get home and catch prime-time TV.

I was greeted well and he gave me some good recommendations that resulted in one of the best cuts I’ve ever had.  The place is busy, homey, and feels like a NY institution.  It seems like they’ve been doing things right, because they are opening a second, larger shop on Chambers.

Dr. Mike is the “Doctor of Hairology, using Russian technology”.

A solid men’s hair salon. That’s it.

$15 will get you nothing too fancy, but you will still walk out feeling sharp & confident, which is exactly what you want out of a haircut. If you’re one of the thousands of men who don’t put as much time and effort into caring for their hair as they do shaving, this is the place for you.

Mirrors are set up in a way so that every chair has viewing access to the tv. Good vibe and honest barbers. I didn’t see a single woman walk in through the doors. They have a salon on Chambers street for the ladies. All the barbers are men who know how to cut mens hair.

If you don’t want to pay too much for your haircut, but still want to look good, come to this place.

Booked an appointment with Lifebooker.com for a wash, cut and style with Michelle a few months back. Have been back for color, highlights and blowouts since.

Great prices, great service!!
